Precautions for use: Bergamot essential oil has photosensitizing properties (primarily due to bergapten), and sun exposure should be avoided after application to the skin. Bergapten, along with other furocoumarins, is responsible for the phototoxicity of bergamot oil. Bergapten causes photosensitization of the skin to sunlight, particularly ultraviolet rays. Due to the presence of bergapten in this oil, consult a specialist before use. Dilute well before use; may cause skin irritation in some people; a skin test is recommended before use. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage: It's best to store essential oils in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat. Citrus essential oils are more susceptible to oxidation than other essential oils.
